About Edward

Edward Scimia graduated magna cum laude from Syracuse University in 2003, with a bachelor's degree in Magazine Journalism and Political Science. He has over eight years of experience in various editorial roles, from writing newsletters for the United States Chess Federation to providing relocation information for expatriate workers.

In addition to his freelance work, Edward serves as the Chess Guide for About.com. He also teaches chess, both as part of after-school programs and to private students.

Edward currently lives in Bethel, Connecticut, and is the proud owner of a cat named Zoey. During the winter, you can often find him out on the ice, curling at the Nutmeg Curling Club in Bridgeport, CT.
